About Wayne Kocher
Who I Am
I’m Wayne, a 35‑year‑old woodcraft specialist living in Eugene, Oregon. I started messing around with wood when I was a kid. I’d carve little toys out of scrap lumber in my dad’s garage. Fast forward to today, and I’m still drawn to the feel of wood under my hands. However, I’ve narrowed my focus to one neat project: TrayEdit.
My passion for handcrafted wooden decor runs deep, especially when it comes to tiered tray stands. Over the years, I’ve poured my heart into learning everything I can about woodworking, design, and functional aesthetics. Through my blog, I share practical tips, design inspiration, and honest insights from my hands-on experience. If you’re into unique, well-crafted home decor that blends style and function, you’re in the right place.

I’m Wayne Kocher, your friendly woodcraft specialist. I’ve spent years designing, building, and styling tiered tray stands in my Eugene, Oregon workshop.
Why Tiered Tray Stands?
A few years back, I needed a simple way to display plants and books in my tiny apartment. Shelf space was scarce. That’s when I built my first two‑tier stand. It saved space and looked great. Plus, friends started asking how I made it. Soon, I had piles of designs to test. I realized tiered stands are more versatile than most people think. You can spot them in kitchens, living rooms, even bathrooms. They work as décor pieces or as organizers.

What I Do Here
On this blog, I mix how‑to guides with honest gear reviews. I’ve written step‑by‑step tutorials—like my “Beginner’s Two‑Tier Stand” that walks you through assembly in under an hour. I also compare popular models, from budget finds to high‑end handcrafted pieces. However, I don’t stop at building and shopping. I share styling tips too. For instance, my “Seasonal Décor for Tiered Trays” article shows you how to swap items for spring, summer, fall, and winter.
How I Work
I believe in testing everything myself. When I review a stand, I note its weight capacity, the wood type, and how it handles moisture. I photograph every angle. Then I break down pros and cons in simple tables. Next, I draft a clear verdict so you can decide at a glance.
